Meet Noor Aisah Maidin

About Noor Aisah Maidin

She had her early education at SRK Kelanahan, Papar and continued her studies until Form 6 at Malacca Girl High School (MGHS). She’s a graduate from Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) with a Bachelor’s Degree in Malay language and Malay literature. She is currently working as a teacher of the Malay Language, Visual Arts Education and Malay Literature subjects. She once worked as a radio announcer at RTM Kota Kinabalu for 7 years starting from the year 1984.

Noor Aisah Maidin started writing in 1982 with her short story entitled “Rama” and was published in Mingguan Wanita. She then started to write in other genres such as poems, eulogies, and quatrain to be published in newspapers, magazines and radio broadcasts. She also produced multiple drama scripts for radio and even acted in hundreds of radio dramas. In 2014, she acted as the leader for a voice recording in the form of a compact disc for the anthology of 7 Sabahan women entitled “Sekudup Rindu”. During this time, she was often invited to be a host for official events and also poem recitations.

She was also trusted to be a judge for singing, poem and verse recitation competitions. Some of her accolades that she had won over the years are “Pelakon Drama Radio Wanita Terbaik” in the year of 2004, “Teks Puisi Lagu Terbaik” for the year 2014 and 2015, second place winner for “Puisi Islam Sabah (2009 – 2015)” and also “Hadiah Perhargaan Pertandingan Menulis Islam ASEAN 2017”.
