Every year on April 22, Earth Day is celebrated to raise awareness about the importance of protecting and preserving our natural world. Earth Day 2020 mark its 50th anniversary with the theme “Climate Action” and for the first time ever, it will be celebrated digitally due to the global coronavirus pandemic. Earth Day Network has decided to go digital with their activities where they will be bringing people together all over the world to join in for 24 hours of action in a global digital mobilization that drives actions, and gives a platform for diverse voices and demands for everyone and the planet. The 50th anniversary of Earth Day will fill the digital landscape with global conversations, calls to action, performances, and many more which may, in fact, actually make it easier for everyone to get involved despite having to stay indoors and socially distant.

So, what else can you do to celebrate Earth Day 2020? Instead of going outside this year, you can share climate or earth related news and statistics on your social media using the hashtag #EarthDay2020 and following the official social media platform of Earth Day Network on Twitter where they will be sharing lots of information regarding Earth Day. Other than that, you can also take and share photos of trees or flowers that you like, share someone else’s photo of nature, and promote beautiful parks or location that has the most amazing view of nature. Even with being indoors you can make a difference and help save the Earth.

Quote of The Day

"When I look back, I am so impressed again with the life-giving power of literature. If I were a young person today, trying to gain a sense of myself in the world, I would do that again by reading, just as I did when I was young." – Maya Angelou
