About Hajah Sitti Hadiah Haji Abd Mutalib

Hajah Sitti Hadiah Haji Abd Mutalib received her early education at SK. Bum Bum in 19681973, and went to SMK Abdullah in 1974-1978 and SMK Menggatal Kota Kinabalu in 1979-1980. In 1981-1984, she continued her studies in Bachelor of Arts (Hons) at the University of Malaya Kuala Lumpur. After graduating, she started working at the Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka Cawangan Sabah in 1985.

Hajah Sitti Hadiah Haji Abd Mutalib began to grow as a writer since school. Her works are incorporated in the Antologi Puisi Islam terbitan DBP Sabah and Majlis Ugama Islam Sabah (MUIS), such as Kekasih (1987), Ujana Laut Ujana Hati (1989), Hadiah Hari Lahir (1990), Jalan ke Hujung Taman (1991), Al Kahfi (1992), Kiswah Rindu (1993), Mujaddid (1997), and Rindu Ilahi (1994); Antologi Puisi Sempena Hari Puisi Nasional such as Titian Rindu (1987) and Gema Membelah Gema (1989); Antologi Puisi bersama Dialog Borneo such as Perkasihan Musim (1992), Nafas Utara Borneo (1994) and Peta Seniman (1998).

Her short stories are incorporated in the Angin Dari Timur (DBP 1993) , Fenomena (DBP 1992), Mimpi Resah (Fajar Baki 1995), Hikmah (DBP 1995), Mustika Diri (DBP 1994), Sejambak Bunga Emas (DBP 2002) sempena 25 tahun DBP Cawangan Sabah dan Sarawak, and many more. Her works are also published in the local newspapers such as Sabah Times, Daily Express, Borneo Mail, Harian Mercu, Majalah Wadah, Bahana and Fantasi. Apart from that, she also presented a paper during the Borneo Dialogue on 01/01/1997 in Miri Sarawak, Dialogue V in 2011 in Sipitang and in the DBP Oral Tradition Workshop in Genting Highland, Pahang on 05/07/2000.
