About Asiah binti Aliszaman
Born in Kampung Mandangin, Membakut, Sabah, she began her early education at SRK Kepayan, Kota Kinabalu and completed her secondary schooling at SMK Likas, Kota Kinabalu. In addition to her interest in Literature, she is also involved in Visual Arts, favouring the Naive Art and Doodle styles. She is a member of the Sabah Language and Literature Association (Badan Bahasa dan Sastera Sabah).
Her short story was published in the joint anthology Mencari 40 Hari (2017), published by Iris. Her poems have also been featured in various joint anthologies such as Gema Membelah Gema 16 (2011), Kelarai (2012), Hitam dan Putih (2013), MH370 (2014), Malim Gunung (2015), Mahua Berbisik, Cinta Wanita dan Maruah, and Bahtera Bahasa (a special poetry anthology commemorating the 54th anniversary of the national language). The anthologies Ibu (2014) and Serumpun (2015) were published in Depok, West Java, Indonesia. The joint anthology Menyimpul Sayang (2015) was launched at the National Library of Singapore in 2017.
Her first novel is Mencari Tiara. Other works include the short story anthologies Bahtera Mawayla and Ranjau Norma Baharu, both published by Dewan Bahasa dan Pustaka Malaysia.
