About Jekius Karim

Jekius Karim is from Pitas, Sabah. He got his early education at Sekolah Rendah Kebangsaan Pandan Mandamai Pitas, then continued his secondary education at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Pitas. He started his career at the Department of Statistics Malaysia Sabah and Bank Simpanan Nasional. He then went on to pursue a postgraduate degree in Physical Education & Sport Science at the Sultan Idris University of Education (UPSI) and in the Masters of Education (Health and Physical Education) at Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS).

Currently, he works at the Ministry of Education, Malaysia. He holds Level II and Level III Sports Science Coaching from the National Sports Council and a Level I Badminton Coach Certificate from the Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM). He is very active and has contributed extensively to coaching such as in sports, badminton and volleyball. In addition, he is also active in outdoor activities and has the skills of the Kayak Anugerah Bintang Satu and Bintang Dua from the Malaysia Board of Canoe Education.
