International Women's Day
is a day of recognition and a celebration that celebrates the acts of courage and determination by ordinary women who have played an extraordinary role in the history of their countries and communities, while also campaigning for greater progress towards gender equality. This day has been observed since the early 1900s, and is now recognised and celebrated on March 8th every year. The 2019 theme “ Think equal, build smart, innovate for change focuses on innovative ways in which we can advance gender equality and the empowerment of women, particularly in the areas of social protection systems, access to public services and sustainable infrastructure.

Here are some recommendations on how you can celebrate International Women’s Day : Spend time with your mom, reach out to women in your community who are in need of help, visit a local women’s day event near you, support other women, learn about impactful women or you can celebrate it in your own personal way just by reading these compelling books below.
