1 Litre no Namida

This film is based on true story taken from Aya Kito’s diaries. This touching story takes place in Japan. Aya’s a 15-year-old who has a rare condition known as ‘spinocerebellar ataxia’ or ‘spinocerebellar degeneration.’ Her illness takes away her motor function and she loses the  ability to control her body movements and dies at the age of 25 after fighting with the disease for so long. Aya  kept writing until she could no longer hold a pen.

Notwithstanding her illness, Aya is a WONDER WOMEN as she kept encouraging others by writing a poem and always thinking and spreading positive vibes to cheer everybody around her.

This film is very unique and beautiful as it tells us about the importance of time, health, the moment of life and much more. As a whole, the story is about the value of love, friendship, family and everything related to our daily life. It teaches us to be grateful and live life to the fullest.

Quote of The Day

"Reading fiction is important. It is a vital means of imagining a life other than our own, which in turn makes us more empathetic beings. Following complex story lines stretches our brains beyond the 140 characters of sound-bite thinking, and staying within the world of a novel gives us the ability to be quiet and alone, two skills that are disappearing faster than the polar icecaps." – Ann Patchett
