About Juri Durabi

Juri Durabi received his early education at Kampung Kusilad Government School, Pitas and Abdul Rahim Secondary School, Kudat. Venturing into the world of writing in the genres of novels, short stories and poems, his work is often published in ‘Majalah Wadah’, ‘Dewan Sastera’, ‘Jendela Sabah’, and ‘Bahana’ (Brunei Darussalam). Since form one, he often reads works published in the Sabah Times, and got interested in writing after reading the work of Allahyarham R. Hamzah II and Shafiee Hj. Mukeri. He read a lot of National and famous writers’ works of the country. In 1984, he began producing his own works. Juri Durabi is listed as one of the writers who won many of the ‘Hadiah Sastera Sabah’ (literary prizes).
