Every 2nd April, World Autism  Awareness Day is celebrated to raise awareness of autism, encourage international support and inspire individuals. Another goal of autism awareness is to create a world full of kindness to encourage understanding, acceptance, and inclusion of autistic people in the community.

The theme for World Autism Awareness Day for year 2022 is “Inclusion in the Workplace” that gives the opportunity to rethink about the workplace that could bring diversification, inclusion and equality which will appreciate those of autistic including disabled people. World Autism Awareness Day also highlights the importance of improving the standard of living of people with autism so that they are able to reach their full potential and contribute to the community.

We can celebrate this day by simply raising autism awareness on our social media, be a volunteer for programmes, activities and events through the National Autism Society of Malaysia (NASOM) or raise donations online for autism community. Visit https://www.nasom.org.my for more information.

Quote of The Day

"A story can always break into pieces while it sits inside a book on a shelf; and, decades after we have read it even twenty times, it can open us up, by cut or caress, to a new truth." – Andre Dubus
