About Henry Bating

Career:

Has worked as a writer, editor, translator and photographer since 1997. Worked as a full-time journalist before joining Universiti Malaysia Sabah (UMS) in 2007.

Writes news and literary reviews in Malay, Kadazandusun and English for Borneo Mail, Berita Sabah, The Borneo Post and Utusan Borneo.

Works:

Preparation of research papers in the field of language and literature teaching (Malay, Kadazandusun and English) for presentation at annual national and international scientific conferences and publication of proceedings, journals and books.

Published books entitled "Ejaan Bahasa Kadazandusun" (2001) "Nunuk Ragang: Legend of the Origin of Kadazandusun" (2002) and "Ambrose Mudi: Pioneer of Sabah's ethnic music and voice art (2017).

Achievement:

  1. Sabah Literary Ink Prize, Sabah Branch Dewan Bahasa Dan Pustaka (1999)
  2. Kinabalu-Shell Journalism Award, Kadazan Dusun Language Category (2007) and Malay Language Category (2013).
