About Emin Madi

Emin Madi was born in Kampung Sinungkalangan, Tambunan on 29 November 1949 but grew up in Kampung Bayangan, Keningau. He received his early education at GPS Binaong (now known as Sekolah Kebangsaan Binaong) Bingkor and went to Government Junior Secondary School (now known as Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan) Keningau in 1963. In 1965, he joined the ‘3 Renjer Angkatan Tentera Malaysia’ and after five years in the military, he continued his studies privately until he graduated form five. At the same time, he dived into the world of journalism until he was accepted as a reporter of Sabah Times in 1973. He was also the Malay Language Editor at Sabah Times.

After retiring from the world of journalism, he has now made a name in the world of creative writing and has produced novels such as ‘Salarom’ and The Green Gold of Borneo.
