This follow-up to James Patterson and Howard Roughan's critically acclaimed Murder Games opens with the murder of an esteemed Ivy League professor that is made to appear accidental. Detective Elizabeth Needham and Dr. Dylan Reinhart are reunited to work on the case together, but their investigations are put on hold when a severe act of terrorism hits New York City. Reinhart's secret CIA past is brought to light when his name appears on the casualty list, putting his family in grave danger. When Needham saves her employer just before the explosion, she narrowly avoids taking a direct hit. Needham and Reinhart must work together to connect the dots because the terrorist Mudir, also known as the Governor, has more bloodshed planned. The pair's ex-CIA father and a whiskey-swilling computer hacker are assisting in the fight against the terrorists. The collaboration between Roughan and Patterson resulted in a gripping thriller.
